Kristen & Jonah Intimate Quail's Gate Winery Wedding

There's a point during a wedding day, where I fall hopelessly, un-romantically (because that would be weird) in love with my couples.  It's hard not to. In the beginning, my clients are just everyday people. Then something happens at their wedding. It's like uncovering a treasured item in a vintage store. At first you see the big picture. There is love and kindness and some thread that connects you. Then slowly, between little moments, funny stories and beautiful anecdotes, the spool that makes just a person The person, unravels. Suddenly you see the way all the people who love them see them and I can't help but love them too. I pick up on all the love vibes and just kind of go with it.

I fell hard for these two. Surrounded by family and friends, these two wined and dined their guests at the beautiful Quail's Gate Winery. There was a perfect mix of hilarious moments (see the dudes getting ready photos below) and touching moments (the speeches, the vows!!) all mashed together to make up a beautiful, personal celebration of these two incredible humans. In between all the stolen glances, and sweet kisses, they managed to look up and out at all the people surrounding them and be present in the sweetness. And given the simplicity of such a task, we all knows it takes special people to be able to savour the moment to the fullest. Thank you for asking us to capture your day. We heart you guys.

Mehalee & Shelagh | Okanagan Wedding Photographer

Sometimes I am a little startled that I ACTUALLY get to DO, what I do. Most of my days are spent with my head down, working away or spending quiet moments wiping up someone's little face, or sticky fingers or giant mess. It's easy to forget how far you've come until you remember. Until someone you knew, touches base to tell you they met the love of their life and are getting married. Spending the day preserving this wedding at Walnut Beach Resort in Osoyoos, filled with so many people I watched grow up through school, reminded me how far we've all come.

In this day and age, when life moves so quickly, when we can lose touch with those we love, Mehalee and Shelagh are the exception to the rule. Their people, the ones who stood beside them, who witnessed and shared in their wedding day, were all there to celebrate the sweetness of their love. The vows they exchanged, the day they planned, the love they share is infectious and playful. Their day reminded me to stop and look around at the life we are all building. There is something about the peeps you watched grow up, and to see them grow into such amazing human beings makes me want to cheer them on even more. I am so thrilled for you both, can't wait to see the life you build together.

Magali & Ryan Tantalus Wedding | kelowna wedding photographer

When Magali, Ryan and I first talked about their wedding day plans, they were clear on one thing: that the wedding day be about love and celebrating with their closest friends and family. They didn't want to incorporate any traditions that didn't feel like them, and by staying true to their vision their day was full of sweet moments, kind words and love shared.

I always have a soft spot for kids at weddings and Ryan's daughters were such bright, loving little girls.

Everything about their day felt unique to them, simple, elegant and beautiful. Wishing you all the best and thank you for asking us to preserve your memories from the day.

The girls are 3 and 5 and Magali's wedding dress was the closest thing to a Fairy Princess dress they had ever seen. Neither of them could stop playing with the delicate beading, it made my heart burst watching.

Chelsea & Jeff | Kelowna backyard wedding photography

Chelsea and Jeff have that thing; the one where they seem at home when they're together. Their wedding day was planned around one of the most important aspects of their love story: family. Their backyard garden wedding, overlooking Okanagan Lake, was the perfect setting to celebrate their families coming together. In honour of her Kelowna roots, the bride arrived by boat and down the dock as the aisle. Under a beautiful tree, surrounded by all their loved ones, with Jeff's 4 lovely kids standing at their sides, Chelsea and Jeff said I do. And from that moment on neither stopped smiling.

Sarah & Ryan get hitched- Summerhill wedding

Sometimes you don't always know what to expect when you meet your clients for the first time on their wedding day. Will they be nervous, closed off? Not Sarah and Ryan. They were themselves from the moment we walked in the door. These two are so full of life and love, the room didn't seem big enough to contain it. They are equal parts romantics and realists, laughing at each others quirks, teasing each other about their short comings and loving each other completely. Theirs is the kind of love that sucks you in and leaves you feeling like the world is a very happy place.

Congrats Sarah and Ryan it was so much fun working with you and your amazing team of vendors!

I loved the way Clarissa from Mint salon styled Sarah's hair... perfect parts elegant and tousled.

Sarah's daughter Kailey was a stunning maid of honour and helped her momma with the final touch on her veil.

The jumping photo was imperative to Ryan.

Instead of a traditional garter toss, Ryan (a big football lover) did a football garter toss.
